Brazil

Brazil is the largest in size and population of South America. Despite becoming an economic power, unequal income distribution creates a large rift between rich and poor and there are a large percentage of single-parent families with children suffering from a lack of nutrition and education.

We tackle these issues in Brazil through our approach which brings long term solutions to provide food supplies, schools and income resources.

Projects include:

  • The Zion’s Hope Day Care Center (Centro de Educação Infantil C.E.I.) was established in 1982, to provide Head Start training, nutritious meals and education for about 100 children yearly between the ages 2-6. The directors began offering parenting tips for the children’s parents shortly afterwards, in response to the lack of parenting skills. In 2003, it also began offering care for children with cerebral palsy.
  • This Day Care Center enables parents to enter the workforce and provide an income for their families. This project helps those who might otherwise be hungry and bereft of employment, create a new future for their families.
